James Johnson Sr.
NASCHITTI — Funeral services for James “JJ” J. Johnson Sr., 76, will be 10 a.m., May 2, at Christian Reformed Church. Jerome Sandoval will officiate. Burial will be in Naschitti.
Johnson died April 26, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Jan. 19, 1935, in Cudei, into the Red Running Into Water People Clan for the Folding Arms People Clan.
Johnson attended Intermountain Indian School from 1949-1954. He enlisted in the US Army from 1957-1959. He was employed at Intermountain Indian School from 1959-1982 and Shiprock Indian Hospital from 1982-1990. His hobbies included bowling, softball, watching pro-football the Arizona Cardinals, watching western movies and doing puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Jean Johnson of Naschitti; son, James Johnson Jr. of Ogden, Utah; daughters, Sharlene Johnson Antone of Ogden, Utah, Valerie Johnson of Naschitti; brother, Leo Johnson of Navajo; sisters, Irene Johnson, Marie Collins, Carolina Jim, all of Shiprock, Minnie Franklin, Betty Garna Nez both of Kirtland; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, John Johnson, Edith Johnson; wife, Ruby Wauneka-Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Ronald L. Johnson, Darrell M. Antone, Patrick R. Joe, Jonathan L. Joe, Matthew Jim, Darrell Yabeny.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Naschitti Chapter House, following services.

Nathan Touchine
CHURCHROCK — Funeral services for Nathan Tom Touchine, 37, will be 10 a.m., May 2, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at a later date.
Touchine died April 22, 2011, in Phoenix. He was born April 18, 1974, in Gallup, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Zuni People Clan.
Touchine graduated from Gallup High School in 1992. He received his vocational training at Gary Job Corp in San Marcos, Texas. He worked as a lineman and in the construction industry. He enjoyed being with family, being outdoors, making people laugh and building things.
Survivors include his brother, Jonathan Touchine of Portland, Or.; sisters, Jennifer Touchine of Phoenix, Mona Touchine of Ganado; grandmother, Adeline Livingston.
Touchine was preceded in death by his parents, Billy P. Touchine, Grace Touchine; grandparents, Tom and Dorothy Touchine.
Pallbearers will be Ben Touchine, Edward Touchine, Jonathan Touchine, Christian Perry, Leslie Begay, Jeffrey Benner.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Churchrock Chapter, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Wagner
CHINLE — Funeral services for Raymond Wagner, 56, were today, April 30, at Our Lady of Fatima Church. The Rev. Blaine Grein will officiate. Burial will be in Chinle Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Chinle.
Wagner died April 27, 2011, in Chinle Valley. He was born May 20, 1954, in Chinle, into the Red Bottom People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Wagner was a shy person but a hard worker. He was a sheepherder, cared for his livestock and loved children. He worked in Idaho Falls on water irrigation and picking potatoes during harvest.
Survivors include his brothers, Henry Wagner, Albert Wagner, both of Chinle; sisters, Mae Lee of Albuquerque, Patricia Wagner, Paula Bahe, both of Chinle; grandparents, Tse’yi ni Chee, Harriet Dick.
Wagner was preceded in death by his parents, Kee and Harriet Wagner; brothers, Kee Bahe Wagner, Alfred Wagner, Kee Chee Wagner.
Pallbearers will be Albert Wagner Sr., Roger Teller, Dickie Bahe, Devine Bahe, Wayne Claw.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wagner family residence, old valley store, following services.

George Walker
CHINLE — Funeral services with full military honors for George James Walker, 77, will be 10 a.m., May 2, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Chinle. The Rev. Blaine Grein will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Walker died April 27, 2011, in Chinle. He was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Canyon De Chelly, Chinle.
Walker was a veteran in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Japan and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed watching wrestling and being surrounded by his grandchildren. Walker will be missed by his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Geoffrey Walker of Chinle; daughter, Barbara Vasquez of Chinle; sister, Elizabeth Walker-Roanhorse; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Walker; brothers, Albert Walker, James Walker; sister, Marjorie Walker Gorman.
Pallbearers will be Geron Walker, Rayme Walker, Charles Begay, Delbert Roanhorse, Anthony Wayne Vasquez, Stephen George Vasquez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Trinity Presbyterian Church, fellowship hall, Chinle.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
